By early 2025, Luong Son district will have maintained its achievement of having all 10 communes meet the new rural development (NRD) standards, including two of them having reached advanced and exemplary levels. This year, the district sets an ambitious goal to increase the number of advanced communes to five, with two more attaining exemplary status. This effort marks a significant breakthrough in the final year of implementing the 2021 - 2025 national target program on new rural development.
Since 2021, Luong Son district has implemented 77 essential
infrastructure projects with a total investment exceeding VND 125 billion.
These projects have involved the synchronous upgrading of communal cultural
centers, roads, lighting systems, as well as health, education, and
environmental facilities. In which 71 projects have been completed
and put into operation.
At the same time, the "One Commune, One Product” (OCOP) program continues
to gain momentum. To date, 16 products have been rated three stars or higher,
focusing on local specialties such as arrowroot powder, honey, Suoi Soi fermented pork roll (sour
meat), and various medicinal herbs.
The district has also recognized 32 model residential areas and 56 model
gardens which serve as focal points in improving the rural landscape and promoting
household-based economic development.
To achieve its goal of becoming an advanced NRD district, Luong Son district is giving
priority to enhancing planning, environmental protection, public security,
health care and education. At the same time, the district is conducting
satisfaction assessments among residents in each commune to ensure that
development efforts align with the needs and expectations of the community.

In the 2024 - 2025 school year, the entire Hoa Binh provincial education sector includes 520 educational institutions and schools. Among them are 13 ethnic boarding schools with 153 classes and 4,487 students. Four of these schools have met national standards, reaching 30.7 percent.
