(HBO) - From the desire of the surrounding community to have a healthy, useful and safe playground, Mr. Bui Phi Diep, Vice Chairman of Yen Tri Commune People's Committee (Yen Thuy) did not hesitate to spend the money of nearly 700 million VND to build a free reading room with an area of 250 m2 to bring the "treasure" of knowledge closer to the people in the poor homeland.

The idea of building a reading room for the
community of Mr. Bui Phi Diep (standing) is precious, worth cherishing in
today's society.
When there is a huge "treasure",
people usually keep for themselves, but Mr. Bui Phi Diep has done different
things. This comes from the mind of a book lover. He said: "When I was
young, I loved to read books, but it was very difficult to get a book, to get a
good book was much more difficult. Therefore, to get more books for reading, we
usually exchanged by the way that every one of us read a book and exchanged to
each other every day. As a book lover, I kept and collected many good books
since I was small. As I had a lot of books, I have more friends to come and
read my books. Since then, I always thought about the idea of building a free
book reading room for everyone. Because a good book becomes more meaningful
when there are more readers.
From that idea, in 2011, when he was Vice
Chairman of the People's Committee of Yen Tri Commune, he was lucky to have the
chance to join the delegation of the history professor Le Van Lan when he
returned to Yen Tri for finding archeological sites. He was being shared a lot
by the professor at that time. He said: In his story, Professor Le Van Lan said
he has a lot of documents, books and newspapers. Most of them are precious
documents about history, ethnology, sociology. If the professor passes away,
all the books will be burned out. On hearing that, I felt sorry and boldly
proposed to him that I would build a free reading room for children in the
house and the local people in the near future. On hearing this, the professor
agreed to transfer a part of his existing books with 500 books to Bui Phi Diep
to open a free reading room for local people. In addition, with his
relationship, Mr. Bui Phi Diep has mobilized organizations and individuals to
donate more than 200 books, increasing the total number of books in the reading
room to more than 700 books with the full types for all subjects, from
children's books to research books, famous masterpiece, etc.
To realize the idea, in 2012, he boldly
borrowed money from the bank and mobilized his relatives to invest in building
a spacious reading room with an area of 250 m2, totally invested nearly 700
million VND. As a result, his reading room has become a familiar destination
for many people in the village, commune and surrounding areas.
