Over 1,500 women paraded in traditional ao dai (long dress) at Hoa Binh Square on March 5 to mark Ao Dai Week 2025 launched by the Vietnam Women's Union. Organised by the provincial Women’s Union in collaboration with the city’s chapter, the annual event features lively folk dance performances and a colorful parade that celebrated the beauty of Vietnam’s traditional dress and its rich cultural heritage.

Bui Thi Minh, Deputy Secretary of the Hoa Binh provincial Party Committee and Chairwoman of the Hoa Binh provincial People’s Council, along with leaders from various departments, join a parade in response to Ao Dai Week 2025.

The event also supports local projects aimed at preserving traditional ethnic costumes and promoting the cultural heritage of the Muong ethnic people and Hoa Binh for the period 2023–2030.

In her remarks, Bui Thi Minh extended warm greetings to local women on the occasion of International Women’s Day (March 8), while highlighting the Party and State's policies to enhance gender equality and empower women in all aspects of society.

In recent years, the Hoa Binh provincial Women’s Union has made significant progress by modernising its operations and applying technology in promoting gender equality and empower women in line with local development goals.

At various levels, the union has organised practical activities focused on addressing issues affecting women, families, and children. Training programs have also been implemented to nurture a dynamic, youthful, and responsible team.

Favourable conditions have been created to facilitate women’s participation in leadership and management while safeguarding their rights, and promoting gender equality to enhance economic development and contribute to the province’s growth.

Looking ahead, union members are committed to upholding their proud traditions and continuously strengthening their roles in both family and society to build a new image of the modern Hoa Binh women.

During the event, union leaders recalled the history of International Women’s Day, as over 1,500 female staff and union members performed folk dances and paraded in ao dai and ethnic costumes in Hoa Binh City’s central square and along several streets.
