the day of releasing water.
Apart
from flood control, electricity generation, irrigation and water transport, the
Hoa Binh Hydropower Plant is a popular tourist attraction, particularly crowded
during July and August when the floodgates are opened.
But people haven’t seen water discharge to Da River in
the last four years. That’s why when the opening of the sluice gates was
decided; the dam has been thronged with people who want to witness the
magnificence of the dam as large columns of water poured into Da River.

People are waiting to see
the Hoa Binh Hydropower Plant open the floodgates.

White, aggressive columns
of water remind people of used-to-be raging Da River…

In spite of the aggressive
water flow, Da River banks look peaceful and beautiful in at night.

However, authority should
advise people to be careful and stay away from restricted areas.
