With a spirit of unity and proactive problem-solving, the Party Committee, the government and the people of Dong Lai Commune (Tan Lac District) have made great strides in implementing the resolutions of the 24th Party Congress of the commune for the 2020 - 2025 term. Focusing on leadership and practical actions, the commune has brought the Party’s resolutions into daily life, creating strong impacts and pushing the local development forward.

The inter-village roads in Bai Trang Hamlet, Dong Lai Commune, have been paved and upgraded, while irrigation systems have been improved to support the agricultural production and transportation of farm produce.

Throughout the term, the Party Committee, government, and ethnic communities of Dong Lai have worked tirelessly and creatively to bring Party policies and State laws into everyday life. The 24th Party Congress resolution has been seriously and effectively implemented, yielding remarkable results in five years, such as advancing agricultural production toward market-oriented goods, developing sustainable and modern small-scale industries, annual local budget revenues surpassing district targets, effectively implementing sustainable poverty reduction and job creation, over 90% of Party cells rated as having completed their tasks well.

According to Mr. Vu Manh Thang, the Secretary of Dong Lai Commune Party Committee, "To bring the Party Congress resolution to life, we’ve translated it into practical action programs tailored to the local conditions. We’ve developed two signature products into OCOP (One Commune One Product) items: Dong Lai pomelo and the traditional brocade weaving of Com Hamlet; we’ve also utilized the natural resources rationally to develop construction materials and forestry industries, while mobilizing all resources to upgrade infrastructure and improve the criteria towards becoming an advanced new-style rural commune.

The commune currently has 218 hectares of citrus fruit trees, mainly red pomelo and Dien pomelo, mostly grown in Dong Tam, Tan Lai and Chong Vach Hamlets. These are cultivated under VietGAP standards, earning the stable incomes of 200 - 300 million VND per orchard per year. Dong Lai pomelos are favored by customers both within and outside the province, mainly distributed through clean agricultural product stores, agents, and traders from cities like Hanoi, Ninh Binh, and Nam Dinh who come to buy directly at the farms.

The brocade weaving craft of Com Hamlet has been recognized as a 3-star OCOP product in 2025, creating jobs for over 50 people, helping increase incomes and preserving the ethnic culture. Meanwhile, the local industries and services have been supported and developed, creating rural employment and facilitating labor restructuring.

Since achieving new-style rural commune status in 2019, Dong Lai has focused on improving the quality of the criteria of a new-style rural commune. Under the motto "The State and the people work together, the Party Committee has led extensive communication and mobilization efforts, significantly raising public awareness and engagement. As a result, all political forces have been activated. The residents contributed labor, funds, and materials to pave roads, alleys, and farm paths. The environmental sanitation has been improved through waste sorting, collection, and proper disposal. Most hamlets now have street lighting systems and flower-lined roads, creating clean, green and beautiful surroundings. The average per capita income in the commune has exceeded 65 million VND per year.

Alongsidethe economic and infrastructure development, Dong Lai Commune has emphasized Party building across political, ideological, and organizational dimensions. The local Party Committee has regularly promoted the implementation of Directive No. 05 of the Politburo on studying and following President Ho Chi Minh’s ideology, ethics, and lifestyle, highlighting the exemplary role of Party members. As a result, the Party's leadership capacity and combat strength have been continuously enhanced, with over 85% of Party members completing their tasks well each year.

Looking back on the 2020 - 2025 term, in addition to the socio-economic achievements, the Party Committee of Dong Lai Commune has strengthened the internal unity and the political system, maintaining the national defense and security, and creating a foundation for further development. In the next term, the commune aims to innovate the leadership methods, promoting democracy, fostering unity and creativity, enhancing Party leadership and resilience, and achieving comprehensive development in politics, socio-economics, national defense, and security, toward a more prosperous, happy life for its people.
