(HBO) - As a large number of people are flocking to historic and religious sites as a tradition after the Tet (Lunar New Year) holiday, Cao Phong district is taking more drastic measures to increase people’s awareness of the COVID-19 and strengthen preventive measures against the disease at these places.
A checkpoint is set up at Thung Nai wharf to monitor visitors.
In response to the COVID-19 resurgence, the district’s People’s Committee has
urgently put in place measures to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus
at local historic, religious relics and tourist attractions, such as Bong Lai
Temple, Khanh Pagoda and Bo Temple.
Visitors to these places are required to wear masks, use hand sanitisers and
maintain safe distancing.
The district has also ordered cancellation of all festivals as well as events
gathering more than 30 people at these places.
Checkpoints have been set up at places where annual festivals are held to make
sure all visitors follow the Health Ministry’s 5K motto: Khau trang (Face
masks) – Khu khuan (Disinfection) – Khoang cach (Keeping distance) - Khong tap
trung dong nguoi (No gathering) – Khai bao y te (Health declaration), and to
provide necessary supplies to rapid response teams.
Those who violate these rules are refused entry and services.
According to the Cao Phong Steering Committee on COVID-19 Prevention and
Control, as of 3:00pm on February 15, there are no people quarantined at
concentrated centres in the district while 16 people are self-quarantined at
their residence. A total of 211 people were reported to have returned from
coronavirus hotspots, including 27 from Cam Giang district of Hai Duong. All of
them have been closely monitored and asked to limit contact with other people.
The district has collected samples from a total of 198 high-risk people for
COVID-19 testing and all came out negative.
Additionally, Cao Phong has demanded closure of entertainment and recreation
venues and requested its communes and townships to proactively identify those
returning from pandemic-hit areas, instruct them to fill heath declarations.
High-risk people will be placed into quarantine while contacts of COVID-19 patients
have been traced.
Chairman of the Cao Phong People’s Committee Quach Van Ngoan said preventive
measures against COVID-19 have been strictly enforced at public places. Posters
have been hung in public places reminding people of wearing masks, using hand
sanitisers, keeping safe distance and others, he said, adding that automated
body temperature screening and hand sanitisers have been provided at ticket
offices and entrance of historic, religious sites and tourist attractions.
Places visited by large numbers of people are disinfected twice a day, while
inter-sectoral forces are dispatched to examine COVID-19 response at historic,
religious sites and tourist attractions during the season of Spring festival./.
